Tayo Inspired Me

So, me being a sticky beak and rather bored, I was browsing through photos on Facebook. Tayo recently updated her album of her and Dave so naturally (yes, naturally) I took a peak through and in doing so I noticed something weird ..

In 90% of her photos with Dave, Tayo stands to the left of him (next to his right hand). In 90% of my photos with Dhillon I stand to the right.

Can someone please explain to me if this is some strange couple thing?

Pimped

Welcome to the new and improved Moo’s Ramblings .. lovingly pimped by Krisa. Thanks luv.

On Thursday evening Dhillon and I went to watch the new Bond movie. We watched at Vmax at Doncaster. The cinemas there are really nice, obviously because they are new .. the sound was really good too, highly recommended. Can’t wait to go Gold Class there too, I think it would be heaps nice. Only annoying thing is the car parking. EVERYONE still wants to go there so the parking is always full. Probably a good idea to go on a Friday after 9 or Saturday evening. They have some nice restaurants in the upstairs area as well.

Last night was Krisa’s birthday dinner. After heading to Eastland to buy some wrapping paper for her gift Dhillon came and picked me up and we went to Docklands in the rain and hail. Dinner was at Liquid Bar which we found after walking through a wind tunnel and a water feature .. that being the whole of Docklands. For my meal I had dips and bread for entre, prawn ravioli for mains and Winda and I shared churros and sticky date pudding for desert. Dhillon had seafood paella which filled him right up and he complained all night of a full tummy.

Today we woke up around lunch time and went to Eastland for breakfast the the Coffee Club. We walked around a few shops and in Dick Smith I mentioned I was thinking of buying a keyboard (the musical kind not the computer kind) so Dhillon got all excited and we went to Billy Hyde Music in Blackburn and bought one .. he bought it for me but he has spent the last 2 hours playing it himself. I have had one turn on it, just to show him how to read the music and he’s been hogging it since! I’m gonna learn then be in a rockband lol.

6 Weeks Till Christmas

Today Dhillon and I went shopping for a Christmas tree. Looked at Big W, KMart and Myer and they were so expensive and big. Ended up getting one from the Reject Shop which is pretty cool, it’s smallish and has fibre optics on the ends of the branches so no need for lights. Got a bunch of decorations too, looks pretty :)

Weekend Away

To celebrate our anniversary Dhillon and I headed down to Rye and Sorrento for a weekend away. We both had Friday off work and after a nice sleep in we got up, packed some stuff and off we went.

As we left it started to rain and unfortunately it didn’t stop until the early hours of Saturday morning. It took us just over an hour to get to our accommodation, Peppers Moonah Links Resort which was situated in Rye on a golf course.

They actually held the Australian Open golf tournament there a couple of years ago. The room was really nice with a view out onto the greens. We went into Sorrento to have a look around but by them time we got there it was 5pm and the shops were closing. We stopped by La Porchetta for a snack and then went back to the resort to relax and watch some TV.

At dinner time we went to Pebbles Restaurant at the resort. It was nice and romantical with a beautiful view out over the golf course and an open fire, it was a shame it was raining though as we missed out on the sunset. We ordered a bottle of red wine and had some food, I had lamb loins and Dhillon had fish. For desert we shared a tiramisu.

Saturday we woke up at 9 and after showering went to Ashcombe Maze. They have Australia’s oldest and largest hedge maze along with a lavender labyrinth and a rose maze. There was also other gardens and a lake on the property. We had breakfast in the cafe before venturing out to the maze, and it was lucky we did as it rained while we were eating. Once the rain cleared we started in the hedge maze, next some of the gardens then the rose maze.

When we had finished at the grounds we went to a place called the Blow Hole. The tide was out so we could walk right down on the rocks and there was a spot where you could see through the cliff to the other side, which was the blow hole. It was super windy but still pretty cool.

We then went back into Sorrento to the back beach and walked up the hill to the lookout. Took some nice photos up there and apparently on a clear day you can see Philip Island. By this time it was about 2pm so we went back into the town and had a coffee and vanilla slice at the place that apparently sells the best vanilla slice in Victoria. I remember seeing it on travel shows etc, and yes the slice was pretty damn good.

We watched Burn After Reading at the cinema which was very cute and cosy. The movie itself was not really my taste but not the worst thing I have ever seen. In the evening we grabbed some fish and chips and watched Tokyo Drift on TV in our room.

This morning we checked out then went to Rye for breakfast. After we ate we went to the Peninsula Hot Springs where I had booked us in for a dip in the pools then a private bath for 2. There were 5 pools in the public areas with the ones up the hill being the hottest at almost 42 degrees and the ones down lower warm like a bath. The water felt amazing on my skin, even the really hot ones. We went in for our private bath which was the spring water with some essential oils added, in a spa bath in a room for 2. We relaxed in there then when our time was up we headed home.

Food makes me

HAPPY!

Just got home from the best dinner I have ever had. Dhillon took me out to eat for our 2 yr anniversary (even though it’s not till Wednesday he got in early). We went to Tao’s Restaurant in Bulleen. They serve a set menu of Asian and Euro style food. 7 courses of deliciousness along with 2 glasses of wine and lavender tea (the tea was surprisingly good).

1st – Appetizer - Was a set item on the menu called ‘Chef’s Selection’. Came out on a plate that was like 3 small plates joined together, with 3 small bite size foods. One was some fish and pickles in a shot glass, the middle one was a salty sardine, maybe even an anchovy, on top of a scallop and the third was some sort of pickled stuff on a mint leaf.

2nd – Entree - I had a seafood salad that came out with a prawn, scallops and mussels with lettuce, tomato and a spicy sauce, there was also wasabi smeared across the plate. Dhillon had a chicken and spinach pancake which had some chunky peanut chutney on the end.

3rd – Soup - Dhillon had cream of mushroom which was delicious and I had ginseng and chicken broth which was also good, but more subtle than the mushroom soup.

4th – Another entree I guess - Another set item, grilled mushroom kebabs with oyster sauce. The kebab also had apple, avocado and capsicum between the mushroom pieces, was beautiful. I love mushrooms :)

5th – Mains - I had steak served on a sizzling volcanic rock. They heat the rock up to super hot then put the beef on it raw and by the time it comes to your table and you cut into it it is cooked to rare/medium rare. Dhillon had baked fish with a miso cream sauce which smelled yummy.

6th – Rice - Came out with the mains. Wasn’t anything special, just oiled, had a slight salty flavour to it.

7th- Desert - We both had crème brule which was yummy. The top was crunchy and the custard was creamy.

Best dinner I have ever had, thanks hunyo :) Next weekend we are going to Sorrento for 2 nights in a fancy pants hotel, along with a visit to Hedgecombe Maze and the Peninsula Hot Springs. All this for out anniversary s2

Last night I had organised a housewarming BBQ expecting about 10 – 15 ppl to show up, turns out only 2 of Dhillon’s friends and Krisa and Winda came but we had fun. Drank Soho, ate BBQ food, played Wii and had a good laugh. Everyone who didn’t come can kiss my fat ass.
