.

Friday evening Dhillon had birthday drinks to go to, so Krisa and I decided to head out the the cinema to watch Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs in 3D. It was pretty good, I think Up! was better though :D There were some small girls sitting next to me who were cracking up laughing which was pretty amusing for me. They were also trying to reach out and touch the 3D objects on the screen.

Saturday we had netball. Amazingly we had made it into the semi-final despite losing the majority of our games. We lost and Krisa rolled her ankle. The other team were pretty rough, I hope they lose next week! In the evening Dhillon and I went to Glen Waverly and watched The Invention of Lying. It was pretty good although I thought it was going to be more ‘laugh out loud’ funny. It had a sweet ending and was nice to watch. We had kebabs from Mitcham for dinner and watched some episodes of Flash Forward. I went to bed at 12, he didn’t join me until almost 5am!

This morning I woke up at 11 and waited for Dhillon to get up .. he didn’t emerge till 3pm so then I had to wait for him to shower and get ready for lunch. I was so hungry but he didn’t care. Stoopid boy lol. We went to Sofias where I pigged out on lasagne and he had a prawn dish.

It’s Over

2 and a half hours till hunyo touches down at Melbourne Airport! This last week has been the longest of my life .. the other 5 flew by though ;)

Thursday was Krisa’s birthday. Krisa likes Twilight .. Twilight opened on her birthday .. guess where I had to go on Krisa’s birthday? Booooo. Lol the things we do for the ones we love. The movie was OK, the cinema was packed out, as expected. I won’t spoilt it for any of you Twi-Freaks but I will say if I had to begrudgingly choose a team, it would be Team Jacob (even though the actor is only 17 and I should not be perving on him).

Friday I went with mum after work to check out some air conditioners. She was also looking at TV’s and digital cameras. We spent an hour or 2 browsing Harvey Norman and the Good Guys but didn’t make any purchases at this point. In the evening I made my way to Glen Waverley for Krisa’s birthday dinner at Pescare (I think?). I had cannelloni which was pretty good!

Saturday we played netball and won our second game of the season. Turns out we have to play in the preliminary finals next week .. we’re not gonna win though, I can tell you that now!

Sunday Kelly came to pick me up and we went to Erryn’s house for a Body Shop at Home party. We didn’t end up buying anything but it was nice to see Erryn’s new house and her puppy dawg.

Boom Boom Pow

Hello once again. This weekend I did bits and pieces. On Thursday evening after work Kelly, Jenny and I headed over to Melanie’s to meet her 3 week old baby boy Frank. He is super duper cute, although he was a bit cranky that night. We all had a cuddle and a chat before coming home.

Friday night I hung out at home with Ninja. Saturday did my laundry and then went to play netball in the afternoon. It was super hot outside so everyone was a bit effortless, not to mention red in the face. We lost, but that’s ok. In the evening Krisa, Steve and Linda came to pick me up and we made our way to Reservoir to watch the Victorian Roller Derby semi-final bout. We arrived at 7.30pm for the start of the game at 8. There were heaps of people there so inside was pretty stuffy, but once the action started no one really cared. It looked like it would be a lot of fun to play .. if only we could play netball like that.

Sunday Krisa and I decided to go to the movies. As I went to pick her up, I was involved in a low speed car accident. The road I was on was two lanes, from the left lane you can go straight or right, from the right lane you can only go right. I was in the left lane, turning right, the guy who hit me was in the right lane, but he went straight =\ There’s a dint in my driver door and the side of my car has lovely long white paint marks/scratches along the side so I am going to have to get it fixed by insurance .. so annoying. Luckily no one was hurt and the damage only minor. The guy was quite apologetic when he realised what he had done.

So after a bit of a cry in the car I picked up Krisa and we went to Southland to watch 2012 .. it was reallyyy good, I was holding my breath through parts of it. It’s long though so make sure you pee before you go in and try to limit your fluid intake :P

One week (and 40 minutes) till Dhillon is home :)

Hi

Meh, almost forgot to blog. This time in 2 weeks Dhillon will be home :) Friday I took my mum out on a date, we went to The Glen for some window shopping, then to watch a movie. We were heaps early for the session time so mum gave me $20 and we played the pokies for a bit.

We watched The Time Travellers Wife. This is one of the few books I have read in the past years and I thoroughly enjoyed it .. it is one of my mum’s favourite books too so she went in with high hops they movie would live up to it. The verdict? We both really enjoyed it, Mum had a bit of a cry, I teared up but none fell out of my eyes.

After the movie we had dinner at Airstream. Mum usually goes for the honey mustard chicken but this time she tried something different, the prawn and mango salad. I had fettucini with chicken and olives in a napoli sauce, which mum finished off when I was done :D

Saturday and Sunday I spent most of the day on the couch watching TV shows I had to catch up on. I was very good only eating fruit salad and yoghurt for lunch and lean meat and salad for dinner. I am rather proud of myself!

Tonight Jenny and I went to visit Kelly in hospital. She has been feeling unwell and her doctor doesn’t know what is wrong, they thought it best for her to be in hospital so they can run a few billion tests in a small amount of time. She will get better soon :)

Love you long time

(even though you almost forgot what day it was)

PS. I forgot to mention in my holiday post that Perth people drive very much to my liking. They all keep left and all travel at or over the speed limit, it was awesome!

Perth Weekend

It all started on Thursday evening. Krisa’s mum dropped her off at my house at around 6.30pm. We then piled into my car for the drive to the airport. After 1 minute of driving I though I had left my camera on the couch at home, so we came back, only to find it was indeed actually in my handbag d’oh! Once again we set off for Melbourne Airport.

We arrived quite early and after quickly checking in we had a surprisingly good dinner at Airbar inside the airport. Our plane departed on time at 9.30pm and we were off. Krisa had brought along her laptop so we watched episodes of The Hills and The City to pass time. We arrived in Perth at 10.30pm Perth time, 1.30am Melbourne time and needless to say we were exhausted. We jumped in a taxi, only to get stuck at the exit gate. The coin machine was not working so we couldn’t get out. The airport attendant tried to fix it but to no avail. He finally decided to just break off the barrier so all the taxi’s could get on their way. Mel’s house was about a 30 minute drive.

We said a quick hello to Mel before plopping into bed. Mel had to work on Friday so once Krisa and I had woken up and fed ourselves we headed out to shop. Our first stop was Westfield Whitford where we both made some purchases at Cotton On before having a coffee. Krisa had seen some shoes she liked but they didn’t have them in her size, so we then headed over to another shopping centre (forgot the name). This place was brand spanking new, smelt like a display home! The shoes were not located here either so we stopped by Subway for lunch and made our way back to Mel’s house. Krisa then looked up shoe shops on the internet and we found one that was close by to Mel’s so we went over there to find they had a pair in her size and desired colour.

Mel came home just after 5pm and after she had a quick shower we drove into Leederville for dinner. We parked in Mel’s workplace and walked over to an Italian restaurant for some garlic bread and pasta. Mel and I shared a bottle of wine! By the end we were pretty tanked so Krisa drove home and we all crashed around 11pm.

Saturday we woke up and were all dressed and out of the house by 10am. We drove to Fremantle for breakfast at Dome. We all had some sort of egg dish and coffee and tea. After breakfast we walked around Fremantle looking for Target. Mel made some purchases then we made our way to the Fremantle Jail for a tour. Our tour guide Paul was awesome. He had some wonderful stories and was very fun to listen to. The tour went for an hour and 15 minutes and was well worth it!

On the way home we stopped by Scarboro beach for some lunch at an American style restaurant. The meals were less than impressive but we still ate heaps. I had a cherry cola, it was awesome! Once we were full we went back to Mel’s house to chill out for a bit. We had rice paper rolls for dinner then dressed up, ready for the Gay Pride Parade in Northbridge. Mel and I had some more wine in the car. We arrived about 7.30, with the parade due to start at 8. We got a good spot right on the barriers, then I needed to pee. I had to hold it in for the next few hours though as we would have lost our spot. The parade was really good, everyone was happy and having a great time as they walked, danced or sashayed down the street. We got covered in glitter and I scored some free condoms!

Sunday we had breakkie at Mel’s house then made our way into the city. We went for a ride on the viewing/ferris wheel thing which gave us some nice views of the small city and the Swan river. After our ride we walked over to the bell tower where we were given the chance to have a go at ringing church bells. For our efforts we were rewarded with a certificate! After we walked up the top of the bell tower and back down we went over to King’s Park where we had a picnic in the sun. Lots of families and people were out, including a couple having their wedding photos taken in the gusting wind. Mel had put her Coke can in her shoe to stop it from falling over .. it did however and she ended up shoeless!

On the way home we stopped for petrol and Krisa popped into Super IGA to get some supplies for dessert. For dinner Mel cooked us a delicious roast of beef with roast pumpkin, sweet potato, onion, broccoli and scalloped potatoes. It was really yummy. We then had a berry/apple pie for desert with icecream and custard on top. We were all full then and Mel went to bed early while Krisa and I watched the end of The Bodyguard on DVD.

Monday Mel had to work again. Krisa and I had a lunch date with my old high school friend Joanna. We met her at Hilary’s Boat Marina (kind of like Melbourne’s Docklands) and after a short walk around the restaurants we decided to eat at the Dome. The food was average but the mango smoothie was awesome. I tried pecan pie for the first time and it has now become one of my favourite desserts! We sat on the rocks next to the beach and chatted for a while before heading off around 2pm. We went to Innaloo Westfield which was pretty small. We did a couple of laps and both made a purchase at a surf store. I got some white sneakers for $47, down from $110 and Krisa bought a giant bag. I also bought some cute Moo pyjamas from Bras n Things. Once we were bored we made our way back to Mel’s house.

At 5pm we went back into Innaloo to meet up with Mel at Sizzler. We pigged out for a good 2 hours, I looooove Sizzler. After face stuffing we went to the cinema next door to watch ‘This Is It’ which was awesome.

Tuesday Mel went to work again while Krisa and I headed to the airport for our 12.30 flight. We arrived in Melbourne at 7pm Melbourne time and it took an hour to get our luggage, get on the bus and get to my car in the long term parking. It was then another hour to get home! I took the day off from work today as I knew I would need a sleep in, and I’m glad I did!
