Friday I managed to get out of work an hour early, on the proviso I would do some work from home. I dropped by Coles to get some groceries before heading to the gym for a run on the treadmill. Once I was home, I started cooking dinner for Dhillon and me. I made roast chicken drum sticks with roast vegies. We shared a bottle of wine with our meals before Krisa and Mai came by with some cake. We watched some TV and had a chat before the girls headed off home and Dhillon and I hit the hay.

Saturday we slept in then I had to get up for netball. We continued our winning streak, only by 1 goal this time though. It was made all the more sweeter as last time round this team kicked our asses … their GA was none too happy and kept slamming the ball around like a little kid. Gotta love a gracious loser. In the evening Krisa came and picked up Dhillon and me and we went into Melbourne Central. We had a feed at Grill’d before meeting up with Andrew and his friends at Partyworld Karaoke for his birthday. His girlfriend Bianca had organised the night for him and hopefully all had fun. I had a great time even though I didn’t take the microphone at all … his friends and Bianca’s friends were all the entertainment needed!

Today I completed the afore-mentioned work tasks before taking a short trip to Coles and then relaxing on the couch to watch Dear John and some episodes of Modern Family.

I almost forgot to blog, how very unlike me. Now I’m sure you all know how hectic work has been and will be for the next few weeks/months. Well, breaking point came on Friday. I had a total of 70 invoice changes in my inbox at any one time, as I completed one, a new one would come through. I was exhausted and brain fried when one of the payroll team sent through an email about me, that was not meant to come to me, that I read and didn’t really appreciate. It wasn’t anything mean or derogatory, but basically saying I was doing a half assed job. I followed up with her manager then also had a chat to my manager and did the one thing I swore I would never do at work. I cried. Not sobbing or anything, just a few tears that I couldn’t stop from coming out. My boss assured me that the managers and directors think I am doing a wonderful job and to keep up the hard work for a few more weeks which was good to hear. It’s just hard to bust your guts out at work, working from home in the evenings and on weekends to then see that no one appreciates what I’m doing. I now know the people who count know and appreciate everything I am doing. Suzanna was also having a stressful day so after work I went to her house to hang out. We got some Grill’d burgers and a bottle of wine and chilled out watching some TV shows on the cable.

Saturday I did some work before going to netball, which we once again won. It was a hard game this time round so made the win all the more satisfying. In the evening Dhillon came over and we ordered pizza and watched some movies on TV.

Sunday I did some more work and then went over to Mum’s house to wash my car. She has a rain water tank out the back so I filled up a couple of buckets and gave Reginald a good scrub. He is nice and shiny now. For dinner, Dhillon and I met up with Markus in Footscray. We went to The Station Hotel which is an upmarket pub. I had a home made steak and mushroom pie, Dhillon had the Wagyu steak and Markus had a stuffed pig’s trotter (ew). It was great to catch up with Mark as I haven’t seen him for around a year. He’s still the same though :)

Friday night my dearest, darling Dhillon brought me some dinner from our favourite little Indian takeaway joint in Ringwood. We had tandoori chicken for entree before hopping (squishing?) into a bubble bath. Once we extracted ourselves from the bath we donned our PJ’s, ate our mains (butter chicken and I don’t know what the other curry was) and sipped wine while watching movies on TV. We hit the hay around 11pm and I recon this week I was the one snoring the house down as I was so tired.

Saturday I played netball, and once again we won, even without the help of the wonderful Krisa as she was in Queensland for Matt’s sister’s wedding. After netball I made my way to Malvern to Michelle’s house to pick up a lamp I had bought off her. When I got there it turned out she had accidentally broken the glass lampshade and after I spent a few minutes assuring her it was a’OK she decided to give me the lamp free of charge. I haven’t set it up in my house yet though. In the evening I had Subway for dinner while watching ‘Hairspray’ and then ‘The Wedding Singer’ on TV with Ninja curled up in my lap.

Sunday afternoon Dhillon and I went to Glen Waverly for lunch. We ate at Shine cafe where there was a band playing jazz music. We had the antipasto platter and a bowl of wedges to share. Dhillon then got called into work so as compensation I took his Coles Myer gift card and went and bought myself some new undies and socks at Target.

So my weekend kind of started on Thursday night when Jenny and I took Kelly out for a birthday dinner at Thy Thy 1 on Victoria St. We scoffed down some spring rolls, san choi bao, bbq beef and prawns with snow peas. Jenny then sneakily asked the waiter for a ‘special birthday dessert’ for Kelly. He scurried away and not long after the lights in the restaurant went out, and a drum roll was thundered out on the tables as the whole restaurant sang happy birthday to Kelly while she was presented with her ‘dick and balls’ banana fritter! Kelly was shrieking with laughter the whole time and was suitably embarrassed.

Friday night Dhillon and I had planned to go to the movies, but instead we went over to Jimmy’s house for dinner. Vishal, Monika, Deep and Ishy were also there and we played cards while the boys had a few drinks and Jimmy cooked up a delicious lamb curry. We left around midnight as I was pretty tired from a full on week of work.

Saturday we played netball, and won once again! 33 – 24 this time, we keep getting better :) In the evening I had to go into work for an hour to complete some testing for the 3rd roll out of Agresso. As of this week, 95% of the company is on the new system with only NZ and TESA yet to migrate. Dhillon had gone to Creamfields during the day so I had a quiet night at home.

Sunday I went to pick up Dhillon from Raj’s house in Clayton and then on the trip home we decided to go and watch Iron Man 2. The movie was pretty good, although I think being in the cinema made it more of an experience due to the special effects. In the evening I picked up Robyn and Mum and we all went to Airstream Cafe in Glen Waverly for a Mothers Day dinner along with Krisa, her Mum and her Nanna. We had a great night, face stuffing and laughing!

Friday was my Mummy-Oh’s birthday so the family (Robyn, Marty, Dhillon and me) went for dinner at Bucacini’s in Mitcham. I had chicken and avocado pasta which was quite nice and we shared a bottle of wine on the table. Mum had a good time which was the whole point.

Saturday Krisa and I played netball in the afternoon, and we won! By 2 goals only, but I prefer a close game as it kicks my competitive side in and I play harder. After the game Dhillon came over and I cooked us some Wagyu beef hamburgers with onion, beetroot, tomato, lettuce and tomato sauce in a crispy bun. It was deeelicious, followed by Sarah Lee Chocolate Mousse flavoured ice cream. We spent the evening snuggled up on the couch watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Johnny Depp version) and The Prestige on TV.

Sunday I made my way to Dingley where Krisa and I took Jasper for a walk to the market. The highlight of the afternoon was Sheryl’s boyfriend Thin making a fool of himself by smashing his hand into the cupcake stand when trying to reload it with cupcakes. This time round I bought a baby cake in each flavour. I also picked up Mum’s birthday gift which was Supernatural themed red velvet cupcakes. Once the market had finished I took the cupcakes to Mum who squealed with delight when she saw them!
