Thursday I went in to work but wasn’t feeling too well. I made it to 9am but just couldn’t see myself lasting the day, so I packed up the laptop and headed back home to do my work from the couch (and close to the toilet for emergency runs … pardon the pun).
Friday I spent the evening at home snuggled up on the couch with Ninja watching TV. Saturday morning I was due to go into work to do some testing but it was delayed to the afternoon. We played netball and beat the top team. They were previously undefeated this season and although the win won’t put us on top of the ladder, it was still a nice feeling to kick their asses 27 – 16. Needless to say the other team were none too happy and (as it seems usual these past few games) started acting childish and rather un-sportsman like.
After I cam home and showered, I picked up Dhillon and made him come into work with me. We were there for about 2 hours then I dropped him off on the way home. Kelly came to my house at about 7.30pm and we cooked up some tacos for dinner. Between us we ate 5 tacos each and were way too full for the dessert Kelly had brought along. After a quick change we made our way into the city to go to Cookie Bar for Jenny’s farewell drinks. Krisa came along later in the evening and we stayed there for about 3 hours until Jenny and her friends toddled off to go clubbing at Seven. Kelly, Krisa and I made our respective ways home to bed.
Today I was going to go to the Dingley Market with Krisa, Trang and Lynh but decided that a sleep in would be much nicer (and needed as stress relief). Krisa and I had planned to have lunch at Dumpling King with our personal trainer Shaun and had invited the girls and their other halves along. Turns out Shaun had to cancel so we enjoyed a crap-load of Yum Cha without him! Krisa was also kind enough to bring me some Cupcake Central cupcake-y goodness which I have since devoured! After lunch Dhillon and I used my Hoyts La Premier vouchers to go and see Prince of Persia. I think I might like La Premier better than Village Gold Class. You are in the normal cinema, but up the back in a different section and you have access to unlimited popcorn, softdrinks, tea and coffee and the seats are a bit like a couch so you can snuggle up while you enjoy the movie.
Dhillon and I were talking about his parents today and whether they would ever want to come and live in Australia, especially if his sister decides to stay here after she graduates from Uni. We were talking about cooking (as you do) and I said that his Mum would probably taste my cooking and never want me to cook for her after the first try. His reply to that was that she would probably teach me how to cook anyway. This might sound a little silly but the idea of that made me quite happy. Although meeting his parents for the first time will be scary and intimidating, I look forward to the day, and the days, where we are all one big family (Mum and Robyn and Marty too). I don’t have a large family and in Melbourne there is only my Dad’s parents. I have an older cousin around too but she is married with her own kids and live quite far in Langwarrin. I see people with lots of family and cousins, and although they can annoy the crap out of you at times, they are your family and will (almost) always be there in times of need. I am looking forward to having more family, and to Dhillon and I starting our own.
