OK, Ghost Adventures is over for another season so I can blog again. Last weekend, the long one, was a big one for me! On the Friday night my Mum came into the city and we went for dinner at Essence which is the restaurant in the Marriott Hotel. I had a baby beetroot salad for entre and salmon with (super yummy) potato mash and asparagus. After dinner we wandered up the road to Her Majesty's Theatre to see Dr Zhivago the Musical. It was really good and we both greatly enjoyed it .. Anthony Warlow has an amazing voice!

On the Saturday, Dhillon and I drove down to Dromana for Cassie’s birthday party. We stayed overnight at the Dromana Hotel, along with Suzanna and her boyfriend Steve who were in the room next to us! We had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel before getting ready for the party. It was a fancy dress with the theme being ‘childhood memories’. Dhillon and I went as Wednesday and Pugsley Addams, Suze was Mini Mouse and Steve was Maverick and the birthday girl was a care bear. The party was great fun and we stayed out until about midnight.

On the Sunday Dhillon and I took the long way home, stopping off in Mornington for brekki and then at Southland to watch the new XMen movie. Monday was spent on the couch with Laura and her friend Denise, watching ‘Americas Hardest Prisons’ marathon on the cable TV.

This weekend I had netball on Saturday then Dhillon came back to the city with me before he went out for a birthday. Today we went to DFO in Cheltenham for some shopping and I bought a warm wool jacket and a knit dress for half price from Esprit!

So I haven't blogged for a while and I’m not going to recap the missing weeks .. deal with it.

Friday night after work I came home, tarted up and then Dhillon and I went to Spice Market for his friend Laura’s birthday. I had never been there before and was pleasantly surprised. The place has a warm exotic decor with a bar at the front, a sunken dance floor and private rooms around the borders. The crowd was a mix of business people and, as the night wore on, a younger crowd. Everyone was friendly though and the music was a good mix of top 40 pop and dance, rnb and some oldschool tracks.

Saturday I played netball, we lost. Dhillon went out for dinner with his friends while I had a roast lamb prepared by Laura. I curled up in bed not long after and caught up on TV shows, which is also what I did all day Sunday!

So the weekend before last was pretty quiet which is why I didn’t blog. This one was much the same although Friday night Dhillon and I joined Suzanna and some other ex-Skilled people at The Glenferrie for her birthday. We stayed for a few hours, had a few drinks and took a few photos. Yesterday I played netball .. we lost, and today I went to visit my mum.

Nice and relaxing Smile

Last weekend was pretty quite, which was very nice for me. It seems since I have been living in the city, quiet weekends have been few and far between.

Friday I hung out at home watching some TV shows and the cable. Saturday I played netball, which we won. Dhillon came along to watch and after the game we went back to Mum’s. Robyn & Marty will be moving back in with her for a while so they can save up to buy a place. The are currently helping Mum clean up the place and also painting the upstairs rooms. After I showered, Mum cooked us all up a lasagne dinner along with a few drinks and Vienetta incecream for dessert. Dhillon tagged along home with me so we watched a couple of movies before I hit the hay and he watched some cricket.

Sunday we went to a park in Ringwood to try and fly a kite. Marty was going to throw it out so I snapped it up. The kite flew, but not for long. It seemed to be off balance and kept diving to the right before hitting the ground. We gave up after half an hour or so then I dropped Dhillon off and came home. Once I was home I decided to rearrange the living area to create more room, the place looks nice now Smile

Friday night after work Sov, Trang and Khrissa arrived at my house. This was not a random event, we were all going out to meet up with Lynh, Mai, Jenna & Marcus for dinner at Quanjude. Trang had picked the venue due to a discussion about peking duck that was had last time Khrissa was down. We ordered a 5 course banquet which was pretty tasty. It was great to have a BCCS catch up, minus Sheryl, plus 2 boys, and even joined in singing ‘happy birthday’ with the table next to us. After dinner Mai and Sov deserted the group to head to their respective homes while the rest of us went to a bar called Hoarse Bazaar to see Trang’s bar tender friend Jimmy. He wasn’t working that night so after Khrissa, Marcus and I had a Saki-for-Japan we made our way over to Retro. Jenna thought we might get in for free as she knows the DJ, but unfortunately they wanted to charge us $15 entry so we decided not to go in and all headed our separate ways.

Saturday I played my first game of netball for the season. We won, 28 – 7. It was kid of boring as the ball barely came down my end of the court! After netball I picked up Khrissa and we came back to my place to eat and get ready for the evening. Once we had face stuffed a load of pizza we caught a cab to Rod Laver Arena for Usher’s OMG Concert Tour! I had bought Khrissa a ticket for her birthday and after patiently waiting 4 months the night had finally arrived! Mai and her friend (who I forgot her name) came along with us too. The Potbelliez opened the night with 5 songs followed by Trey Songz. Trey played for an hour, he has a lovely voice but boy does he have tickets on himself. After Trey was a short toilet/drink/food/stretch legs break the man himself took the stage. The concert was AWESOME! Better than going to see Ne-Yo, but only cause Ne-Yo only played for an hour, Usher played for 2 1/2, I knew all the songs and he even did a tribute to Michael Jackson. It was fantastic and I would love to go and see him again.

After the concert Khrissa and I walked to Crown to meet up with Dhillon who was out for his friend Pam’s birthday. We went to the club upstairs called Fusion and danced and drank until Dhillon got kicked out for being too drunk hehehe. I decided I didn’t want to deal with him snoring in my bed so I told Raj to take him home. Raj had been encouraging him to drink anyway so he could deal with it!

Sunday morning I drove Khrissa home and then picked up Dhillon from Raj’s house and drove him home, before dropping Raj off in the city. Yes, I played taxi, but that’s OK. The rest of the evening I spent on the couch catching up on TV shows.

OK I’ve been lazy with my blogs again, so sorry. So 2 weekends ago my friend Mel was over visiting from Perth. We caught up for a Yum Cha lunch in Chinatown, along with Kelly, Erryn & Tahlea. It was great to see all the girls and catch up with all the goss. After lunch, Dhillon called me out to meet him, Raj and Manisha at Federation Square. From there we walked into the city to have some food at Pancake Dessert House. We then decided it was time for a drink so went to the rooftop bar at The Carlton for a while. Once we were done there the boys decided they wanted to go to the Gin Palace, so we all had a cocktail there before heading over to 24 Moons for a drink for Dhillon’s friend’s birthday!

That Sunday we woke up early for Andrew to pick us up and drive us out to the Avalon Air Show. It was a pretty cool day, the fighter jets are amazing to watch as they zoom around the sky. We stayed for a good 8 hours or so watching the planes and checking out the ones on the ground.

This weekend just passed was a long one down here in Melbourne. On Friday night Laura and I had a pizza, poutine and wine feast before KO’ing in front of the TV. Saturday I caught up with Bec and her baby Michael who is 3 months old now. We ate at the Pancake Parlour which was yummy, I had a short stack of pancakes with organic maple syrup and a side serve of cottage fries.

Sunday Dhillon came over and we went to watch The Adjustment Bureau at Melbourne Central. We then watched more movies at home, including The Mechanic and Scary Movie 3. Monday I drove Dhillon home and then went to Mum’s place to wash my car. Robyn and Marty were there too and it was good to have a catch up with them as well!
