First, and most importantly, yesterday was Dhillon’s 25th Birthday. Still wishing him a very happy birthday xox
Thursday after work we headed off to Chadstone to buy a birthday present. He had no idea what he wanted so we walked around looking for things. He eventually decided on a widescreen flat-panel monitor for his computer which he is very happy with. By the time he picked that it was 830pm and I was ready to chew my arms off for dinner, so on the way home we stopped at Sofia’s in Burwood for a giant meal. I had pasta and he had chicken.
Friday evening I stooped at Kmart on the way home from work as they had a home sale on. Ended up buying a toaster and a kettle along with a wire basket. I took the basket with me to Dan Murphy’s and filled it up with about 15 different types of beer. This was the surprise part of Dhillon’s birthday gift, I think he liked it :)
Saturday was his actual birthday so we went for brunch (his breakfast, my lunch) at the Pancake Parlour. Went to Godfrey’s as they had a sale on this weekend and bought a nice new vacuum cleaner. After that we started talking about furniture and ended up heading to Nunawading to have a look through the home maker shops. I was thinking of getting a Fantastic Furniture house package for 2 thousand. We went to check it out but also looked at a bunch of other shops along Maroondah Hwy as well. I ended up finding some good bargains which were much better quality than what I would get at Fantastic. From a shop called Furniture Galore I got a 2 seat sofa and a 3 seat chaise lounge in a creamy coloured velour for $999. From another shop, I can’t remember the name .. I got 2 bedside tables, a tall boy, a coffee table and an entertainment unit in a dark finished timber for $1350. I’m very happy with my purchases.
Saturday evening we decided to use the Gold Class vouchers I have to watch Step Brothers at the Jam Factory. By the time we made it in to Chapel St we only had about half an hour to eat so we headed down to Lamb for a yummy kebab. We has seats in the front row of the cinema but that’s OK when you’re at Gold Class as you can lean back in comfort. We ordered some wedges and a glass of wine and champers. The movie was really good, we were laughing the whole way through, I recommend it!
Today I spent some time going through my boxes left over from the last time I lived out of home. Turns out I have a full set of plates and bowls along with some cups and cooking utensils. Now I just need to buy some white-goods, some more cups and mugs and some cutlery, also some towels and things like that and I’m set!
