Weekend

First, and most importantly, yesterday was Dhillon’s 25th Birthday. Still wishing him a very happy birthday xox

Thursday after work we headed off to Chadstone to buy a birthday present. He had no idea what he wanted so we walked around looking for things. He eventually decided on a widescreen flat-panel monitor for his computer which he is very happy with. By the time he picked that it was 830pm and I was ready to chew my arms off for dinner, so on the way home we stopped at Sofia’s in Burwood for a giant meal. I had pasta and he had chicken.

Friday evening I stooped at Kmart on the way home from work as they had a home sale on. Ended up buying a toaster and a kettle along with a wire basket. I took the basket with me to Dan Murphy’s and filled it up with about 15 different types of beer. This was the surprise part of Dhillon’s birthday gift, I think he liked it :)

Saturday was his actual birthday so we went for brunch (his breakfast, my lunch) at the Pancake Parlour. Went to Godfrey’s as they had a sale on this weekend and bought a nice new vacuum cleaner. After that we started talking about furniture and ended up heading to Nunawading to have a look through the home maker shops. I was thinking of getting a Fantastic Furniture house package for 2 thousand. We went to check it out but also looked at a bunch of other shops along Maroondah Hwy as well. I ended up finding some good bargains which were much better quality than what I would get at Fantastic. From a shop called Furniture Galore I got a 2 seat sofa and a 3 seat chaise lounge in a creamy coloured velour for $999. From another shop, I can’t remember the name .. I got 2 bedside tables, a tall boy, a coffee table and an entertainment unit in a dark finished timber for $1350. I’m very happy with my purchases.

Saturday evening we decided to use the Gold Class vouchers I have to watch Step Brothers at the Jam Factory. By the time we made it in to Chapel St we only had about half an hour to eat so we headed down to Lamb for a yummy kebab. We has seats in the front row of the cinema but that’s OK when you’re at Gold Class as you can lean back in comfort. We ordered some wedges and a glass of wine and champers. The movie was really good, we were laughing the whole way through, I recommend it!

Today I spent some time going through my boxes left over from the last time I lived out of home. Turns out I have a full set of plates and bowls along with some cups and cooking utensils. Now I just need to buy some white-goods, some more cups and mugs and some cutlery, also some towels and things like that and I’m set!

MOVING

Yesterday after work mum and I went to check out a unit in Ringwood that was open for inspection, and today I also went to check out two more in the same area. I handed in applications for all 3. On the way home I dropped by Coles and as I was strolling the aisles my phone was ringing. It was the real estate agent letting me know that I was successful for the place we had looked at at Monday!

In 2 weeks time I will be moving to Ringwood!! It’s a 2 bedroom unit with a garage and small backyard with a clothes line. It is being renovated by the owner, so it will have new carpet, new curtains and fresh paint by the time I move in. So exciting!!

Weekend Review

Friday night I headed to my old work Stellar to pick up Dhillon and Kelly before driving to the Belgian Beer Cafe in the city. It was a pretty humid day and as we were driving down Wellington Rd a small thunderstorm hit followed by huge chunks of hail! Luckily we made it to Crown in one piece and found some parking on level 1 before walking to the Cafe which is near Eureka tower. The Cafe was pretty busy but Mel had some reserved tables for us. Had a couple of drinks and some chips before heading back home at about 830pm. I had to drop Kelly and Dhillon back to work as their cars were still there and when I turned off the freeway at Elgar Rd there was a random breath testing stop. My first test since I’ve been a full licence-er .. and I passed of cos hehe.

Saturday I had to wake up early to put on a dress (and leggings and a cardigan and a jumper) for Erryn’s hen’s day. Got to her house at 10am and had a glass of champagne for breakfast. We went to the Caulfield Races for the day, on a tour bus. About 25 of her friends and family were there and luckily there were a couple of footy clubs there as well to keep the drunk girls happy. Kelly and I sat in the stands with a blanket on our laps like nannas. Erryn got pretty drunk, as every hen should, but hopefully she had a good day. Arrived home at about 630pm and I was exhausted. Dhillon went to watch the footy in the evening at the local pub, he goes for the Saints and they lost, so at 1030, after I checked to make sure the game was over I called him to make sure he was OK and not crying in a corner .. he didn’t answer though so I called again just in case. Still no answer. I waiting for about an hour wondering if he was OK and hoping he would call, but he didn’t so I called him again, a bit worried at this time. He answered after a few rings and it turns out he had gone out to his friend Bob’s place, so I got a bit angry that he hadn’t bothered to tell me where he was going nor answered his phone.

Today we had planned to spend some time together, and knowing he had been out the night before I figured he wouldn’t wake up until the afternoon .. and I was right. He came online at 12-ish and we couldn’t think of anything to do so we decided he would come here to chill out. Now apparently it takes him 45 minutes to get dressed and ready to come to my house, even though I live 5 minutes away from him. We made plans for him to come at 1pm and not to be late. It got to 120pm and he wasn’t here so I called him .. no answer. After Saturday night this kind of pissed me off, so I waited 10 minutes and called him again .. still no answer, I called him 10 minutes later and 10 minutes later after that .. finally he answered and what had he been doing? SLEEPING!!! By that time I was so angry all I could do was cry .. he finally made it to my house at 230pm!! Normally that would be OK but tonight I had plans with Krisa so she was picking me up at 330pm, so all I got to see him this weekend was a couple of hours on Friday and one hour today. Men!!!

So Krisa picked me up and we headed into Box Hill for a late lunch/early dinner. We went to David and Camy’s and had our usual noodle and dumpling fest, along with some soya bean milk and coke for Krisa. After eating we tried to find a car wash on the way to this city but couldn’t actually find one. We found some parking in the city but were almost an hour early for the movie so we went to Gloria Jeans in Melbourne Central for a coffee/iced chocolate. After sipping that it was time to go up to Hoyts for our movie. We watched The Mummy 3 in Directors Suite, a night her social club puts on occasionally. It was OK the movie but not as good as the first 2, still I enjoyed it, now I’m really tired though, missing my sleep in on Saturday made me a bit cranky.

This week and next weekend I will be spending time looking at rental properties as I have decided to move out. I knew it was time when my mum swore at me for using too many dishes to make a cake .. Hopefully I can find somewhere soon!

Hi

So, first blog from my NEW LAPTOP, yeah. Hehe it's very pretty and fast and the keyboard is nice to type on.

Weather's been lovely, went to the beach on Friday  night for about 5 minutes cos it was way too windy, was a nice drive though. Yesterday I made Dhillon wake up early to come out with me and enjoy the sun. We went to Powerhouse, then to Stellar so he could change the recording tapes .. then to Mount Dandenong Sky High lookout, then to Doncaster to check out the new Westfield. In the evening we came back here to hang out for a bit then went to Jenny's birthday at her apartment in Docklands. After the party we went to Se7ev with some of Dhillon's friends before heading home.

Awards Night

Another Stellar awards night has come and gone, the 4th one to be exact. This year I was still an invited guest (next year I'll have to pay). It was held at the Plaza Ballroom and the theme was masquerade. The ballroom was amazingly beautiful and fit the theme perfectly. Everyone had a mask on and some managed to keep theirs on all night! The awards went to really deserving people and the DJ played a nice mix of music. I had a really good night!
