Ho Ho Ho

Merry Christmas! Hope you have had a wonderful long weekend, a very merry Christmas day and that Santa brought by something wonderful. My Christmas was spent at Mum’s house for lunch. Dhillon and I arrived at 11 to find that Mum, Robyn and Marty had done all the preparation already. As I was about to take my first sip of bubbly for the day the phone rang .. it was the rest of the family, stuck at my grandparents place to do a flat tire. As my car was the last in the driveway it was my job to head out to pick them up, luckily Nan’s house is only in Doncaster.

So once I had brought Nan, Aunty Carol and my cousins James and Elise to Mums (Pa stayed behind to wait for the battery guy) we chowed down on some delicious food. I would add photos but I had to reformat my laptop last night, you can see pics on my Facebook page though. For entree we had spinach dip and spinach and fetta pastries. Next was mini pork burgers followed by roast turkey, potato salad, garden salad and beetroot salad. Dessert was ice cream cake and cupcakes I had picked up from Sheryl on Christmas Eve. Pa arrived just as we were eating the main course so he dug in as well. Heaps of presents were exchanged and I’m happy to say everyone seemed to like what I bought for them.

Saturday Dhillon and I hit the Boxing Day sales at Doncaster. I didn’t buy anything but Dhillon brought home a Blue Ray DVD Player and a new lens for his camera. In the afternoon we watched Sherlock Holmes which was pretty good, although I was a bit tired and was trying not to fall asleep.

Meanwhile in other news, Krisa’s other half Matt has made the move down to Melbourne. They are all living together at Krisa’s mum’s house which will be nice and cosy. Hopefully he finds a job soon and likes Melbourne life. We are all going to watch Avatar in 3D this afternoon, after a late lunch in Glen Waverley.

I have to work this week, unfortunately payroll doesn’t stop for anyone and the next 3 days will be super busy. Ah well at least there will be minimal traffic on the roads. We will probably go to the city on New Years with Krisa and Matt to watch the fireworks..

Hello

Personal training is still going well, my diet however, is not. So I am a strong fatty! Tuesday night I did all my Christmas shopping in one bang. I was quite happy with my purchases and hope the family like them!

We had a Christmas decoration competition at work .. and we won! Woo hoo!. We created snowy windows, a fireplace with Santa stuck inside and an advent calendar with pictures of our boss dressed up in a Santa suit.

Friday I finished work early and came home to set Ninja up for the night. When she was fed and cuddled (as much as she can be cuddled, she’s not really a cuddly cat) I left to pick up Dhillon and we drove into the city to stay at the new Hilton Hotel at South Wharf. We stayed on the 17th floor in a king studio suite. It had a lovely view of the river, Crown and Eureka Tower. The room had a king size bed with a separate bathroom and shower. We fluffed around in the room for a bit then went to the bar downstairs for some food. We shared a club sandwich and some chips with a glass of wine. Once we had finished face stuffing we went back upstairs to get ready for the Skilled Christmas party.

We arrived a The Peninsula around 8pm and had a few drinks and nibbles and chatted with work friends. The music was OK, 80’s stuff to get the crowd in the mood I guess. Door prizes were drawn at around 10pm with the major one being a $1,000 Coles Myer gift card. We didn’t win :( Dhillon and I left not long after that and caught a taxi back to the hotel. We stopped by the bar again and ordered a cocktail called Spanish Ponche. It came out in a massive jug and worked out to be 3 glasses each. After sloshing that down we went upstairs and tucked ourselves into bed.

Sunday we got up at 11, showered and checked out. I dropped Dhillon home then Krisa came and picked me up and drove us back into the city to Jenny’s house. The 3 of us went out to South Melbourne to have fish and chips for lunch, then went back to Jenny’s place to watch a DVD and some TV. We ordered some pizza for dinner and made our way home around 8.

Ouchie

Another week gone by, only 3 and a bit more until 2010. Monday last week I started personal training, outside of the gym. My trainer Shaun came to my place and gave me a bit of a fitness test and a mini workout. I felt good although my legs were a little sore the next day.

Wednesday was my second session, this time at a park in Box Hill. He made me do pushups and tricep dips until I couldn’t physically do another. I also did some cardio and boxing along with planks. I really like the boxing, except punching over my head .. that hurts. I was pretty worn out after my first full session but felt ok. I woke up in the middle of the night and my arms were both numb .. when I tried to move I felt PAIN which lasted into Thursday and Friday. Saturday and Sunday I had aches, today I feel OK .. but I had another session today so we will see how I feel in the morning. No pain no gain .. or so they say.

Friday I worked through my pain and Dhillon and I went to Tao’s Restaurant in Bulleen for a romantical dinner. The food was wonderful as always and we tried warm Saki for the first time. I was a bit disappointed my favourite mushroom appetiser was not on offer that night but the steamed egg and seafood dish was yummy too. I chose sashimi for entre, complete with a baby octopus, cream of mushroom for my soup course, fish for my main and crème brule for dessert. Dhillon had prawns and oysters for entree, chicken and herb broth for soup, teriyaki chicken for main and some sort of creamy fruit dish for dessert.

Saturday Dhillon woke up feeling average so we stayed in for the day. I cooked us up some chicken pasta for dinner and we watched TV before hitting the hay.

Sunday I cooked up some eggs for brekki and we went over to Eastland so Dhillon could have a haircut. When he was finished we went to Theobrama’s Chocolate Cafe for a drink. Dhillon had a milk hot chocolate while I had a caramel hot chocolate and a meat pie!
