This week I have been on holidays. Monday I didn’t do much which turned out to be the flavour of the week, I did get to watch alot of the tennis though. Tuesday evening Dhillon arrived with his bag of clothes, ready to stay for the week. We cooked up some dinner and then made our way to Nunawading for the annual fireworks show. We arrived about 45 minutes before the big bang was due so we walked around the concert grounds. Dhillon decided he wanted a coffee so we lined up for aaages to get one for him. Once he was satisfied we made our way back to the footy oval and claimed our spot for the show. As always the fireworks were amazing. They set them off from the footy oval and you’re allowed to be as close as the fence line, so you are right underneath.

Wednesday Dhillon went to work and I pottered around home. I cooked up some pasta bake (his favourite) for dinner and we watched some tennis on TV.

Thursday I had lunch with Mele and Nathalie, friends from high school. I picked up Mele from her house and got to meet 2 of her 3 little kids who were absolutely adorable. She is also very pregnant with her 4th baby, another boy. She already has 2 boys and a girl! We met up with Nathalie at Sofia’s and spent a few hours catching up and stuffing our faces with food. In the afternoon, Kelly came to pick me up after she finished work and we drove into Jenny’s house in South Melbourne for dinner. We had a roast chicken and I made some potato salad. Once we had eaten we went to the local shop for an icecream. We left Jenny’s just after 9. It was nice to come home to Dhillon already in the house.

Friday I had to get some prescriptions filled so I walked to Chemist Warehouse in Ringwood. I must have got there during their rush hour as I spent almost 2 hours on the whole journey. Once Dhillon came home we drove all the way across town to Caroline Springs to his friend Pam’s house. His other friend Geri was also there and they had prepared lots of snacks and drinks for us. Dhillon has not caught up with Pam for a while so they were reminiscing about old times, but they all made me feel welcome and included so I had a really good night. Pam actually reminds me of my old high school friend Kalo so I felt quite at ease with them straight away. We left their house at midnight and got home just before 1am.

Yesterday I went to pick up Mum at the airport, she was returning home from Aunty Margaret’s house in South West Rocks. My usual way to the airport is along Bell St however traffic was backed up when I got to Coburg. Turns out someone had been hit by a train, he is still alive but police were diverting traffic which meant I had to get out the trusty GPS which took me some wonderful back way to the airport. By the time I got there mum had landed and collected her luggage and was able to meet me in the pick up zone so we didn’t have to worry about paying for parking. We decided to come home via Citylink to avoid the traffic jam. On the way back we stopped in for some pancakes at Doncaster Pancake Parlour. Dhillon spent the evening at Jimmy’s house with the boys. I had a bad sleep, not only because of the heat, but at 3am some guy was walking up and down the road screaming out swear words and other stuff I couldn’t understand. He went up the street once and then came back, knocking over my neighbour’s bins that were still on the street and scaring the crap out of me. It took me a little while to relax and get back to sleep.

Today once Dhillon arrived home we went to Doncaster to the Pandora shop where we purchased my birthday gift. I got a Pandora charm bracelet and 3 charms. A lot of the girls at work have them and it seems to be a bit of an obsession. I am going to try to hold back though and just collect charms as gifts rather than buying them for myself, it has more meaning that way. Once I had picked out my jewels we went upstairs to check out the movie session times. Nothing took our fancy so we made our way home. Dhillon has gone home now but will spend Thursday (my birthday), Friday (going to 20/20 cricket) and Saturday (my birthday drinks) nights here with me.

Hello hello, I would like to remind you that there is only 10, yes 10, sleeps till my birthday. Exciting yet depressing at the same time. Exciting cos it’s a whole day about me, depressing cos I’m going to be 28. If I thought 27 sounded old, 28 sounds older!

So this week I am on leave from work. They asked me to take some time off before Agresso comes and I was happy to oblige. Friday I left early and my holidays commenced with a bout of shopping. I spent my Bras n Things voucher and also bought some summer tops and an umbrella for this wonderfully unpredictable weather we have been having.

Saturday Dhillon and I went into South Yarra for a BBQ on the Yarra. It was for Dhillon’s boss’ going away party, he is moving back to England for a few years. Caught up with some old friends from Stellar and met Justin’s new beautiful baby girl. In the evening Dhillon and I watched Invictus at Doncaster in Gold Class. We were using the vouchers I gave Dhillon for his birthday, which included food vouchers. I had Vietnamese style chicken salad followed by sticky date pudding while Dhillon had Wagyu beef burgers.

Sunday I went for a walk at around lunch time. Forgetting that it was summer I didn’t put any suncream on and once I came home 45 minutes later I discovered a developing sunburn across my shoulder in the shape of the singlet top I was wearing .. hot!

Today I fluffed around, watching a bit of tennis and reading a book. I had personal training in the afternoon which was good. Tomorrow we may go to a BBQ and will definitely go to the annual Australia Day fireworks held at Nunawading Library. Then Dhillon is staying with me for a whole week. Will I survive?

I had a nightmare last night. I didn’t drop off to sleep for ages, probably due to the Coke I had at 3pm as I’m not a big caffeine drinker anymore. Anyway I nodded off around 1.30am and had one of those dreams where you feel you were awake. In the dream I was in my bed and a loud tapping noise had woken me up. I rolled over to the right and turned on the light, spilling my glass of water on the way. I was calling out to my sister ‘Robyn, are you making that noise? What are you doing?’ but had no answer so was getting worked up. I must have woken up then cos there was no noise and obviously my sister doesn’t live with me. There was a thunder crack after then so perhaps the thunder was the noise in my dream, it was also pissing down with rain which upset Ninja so she came in and slept on my butt for the rest of the night (I sleep on my belly).

Friday evening Krisa and Matt came to pick me up and we made our way into Chapel St to meet up with Linda. The restaurant she had wanted to eat at was booked out so we dined at TGI Fridays instead. I had the Jack Daniels burger which was pretty tasty. Once we had finished face stuffing we strolled along Chapel St till we arrived at San Churros and for dessert I had strawberries drizzled in chocolate and a mango/white choc smoothie … smootie.

Saturday I woke up early .. well early for a Saturday and took my mum to the airport. She is visiting her sister up in South West Rocks, NSW for 2 weeks. I suggested to my Aunty that she gets Mum on Facebook while she’s up there. Once I had booted her out at the airport I made my way back to pick up Robyn, Marty and Dhillon and headed to Silvan Reservoir for our BBQ. The GPS tried to take me the quickest way and we ended up on a gravel road for about 15 minutes. Once we arrived my car was covered in dust, luckily the rain today has washed it off. We were the first to arrive, with Vishal, Monika, Jimmy 1 and 2, Sid, Chinamy, Krisa and Matt turning up 30 minutes later. We had BBQ sausages, hash browns, veggie sticks and salad. Once we had eaten the boys wanted to play cricket so we made our way to flatter ground and they had a hit while the girls laughed at them. Was a great, exhausting day!

Yesterday Krisa dropped Matt off to the airport, something she thought she wasn’t going to be doing for a while. Unfortunately he had trouble getting work this time around so headed back to Sydney and his old job as his holidays were finished. Cos she was so upset *cough cough* we had a retail therapy session. I bought a silly t-shirt, a singlet for $7 and some shampoo & conditioner from Crabtree and Evelyn.

Hello there. The H key on my keyboard is stuffed, so I apologise in advance if I miss any out. Now let me cast my wind back to NYE. Unfortunately I had to work during the day, payroll doesn’t stop for anything much. Ray let us go home at about 1.30 so I had a nap before we headed out for the evening. Krisa and Matt came to pick me up and we made our way to Toorak, stopping to collect Dhillon on the way. We got to Jimmy & Sid’s house just as the thunder, lightening and rain hit so we made ourselves comfy and settled in for a few drinks. Their house has a view of the city so we watched the family fireworks. We were planning on going into the city when the rain cleared, but it never did so we ended up staying in Toorak. Everyone was drinking except for Matt, Dhillon was waaaasted and amusing everyone with his drunken antics, including walking into the glass door. We got home around 2.30am.

New Years Day, after a sleep in, Dhillon and I had Indian food at our favourite little takeaway joint in Ringwood and then went to watch a Bollywood movie, 3 Idiots at Eastland. The cinema was full and I think I was the only white person in there. The movie was funny and had an intermission half way through, a standard thing with Bollywood films.

This Friday just passed I picked up Krisa and Matt after work and we headed into Springvale for a feed. We were planning on having dumplings but the place Krisa remembered being there was no longer around, so instead we ate at our favourite little Vietnamese place on the corner. After dinner we made our way to Parkmore Shopping Centre to have icecream before heading home.

Yesterday I sat in front of the aircon till about 5pm then I picked up Dhillon and we went for a drive. We ended up on Chapel St where we had an iced coffee. We then drove through the city then back home to a night of DVD’s, pasta bake and wine.

Today Krisa picked me up and we went to watch Little Ashes at the Astor Theatre in Prahran. We had a KFC stop for lunch and a Coles stop on the way home.
