Last night I finally got my hunyo for a whole Saturday night. Yay! He came to pick me up, but a fuse is busted in his car so there is no music at the moment, we ended up taking Bob car, he drove though. The freeway is close to being finished and they are working on changing the on-off ramps at Springvale Rd so the freeway will continue along on it's journey to Frankston. For that reason the speed limits have changed to 60 on Springvale Rd, 80 for the first part of the freeway then 100 once you pass the roadwork areas.
We had just come onto the freeway and were in the 80 bit when we noticed a car in the middle lane had their hazard lights on. We slowed right down to see that the car had broken down in the middle lane of the freeway and 4 stupid guys were standing around the car and looking in at the engine trying to fix it. Most cars noticed the hazard lights and changed lanes. We were in the left lane and as we were approaching the car, quite slowly by now, I noticed a car in the middle lane coming down the side and not slowing down. This car would have been going 80, if not 100 and obviously they didn't notice the indicators blinking. The braked at the last possible second and swerved to the right. It was SO close, the guys standing around the car all scattered in front of our car and the other car was lucky they didn't lose control and skid into either the broken car or the dividing barrier on the right hand side.
It was SO dangerous and those guys were so DUMB to even consider standing in the middle lane of a freeway at night time. They are so lucky to still be alive I think! We sped up as we went past them and a few kilometres down the road the car that had almost hit them had pulled over on the shoulder and I'm sure they would have all been freaking out. Moral of the story? If your car breaks down on a freeway, leave it there, call RACV or the cops. Don't get out of it unless it's safe and definitely don't stand around it!
Anyway after the drama of the night we went to Chapel St and did some bar-hopping. So classy (sarcasm) but we had a good night. Started out at Hoo Haa bar and had a drink there. Then went to Blue Bar cause Dhillon needed to pee, they had some nice break beats so we stayed there for a drink. Then we walked up the road and popped in to the Irish bar, having a blonde moment, can't remember the name, so he could pee again. Then we went to the Imperial for another drink and a bit of a dance, then back to the Irish bar so Dhillon could do the breath test, then to Lamb's for a chicken kebab, then home. He stayed over, I made him, it's his 'punishment' for being busy with the boys tonight hehe.
