Bye Bye

So the decision has been made. After almost 4 years I will be moving on from Stellar. June 27 will be my last day. Must start job hunting madly!

Thursday night I decided to skip gym and cook diner. Made my gourmet pizza and Dhillon came over to scoff some. We got some DVDs and settled down for a nice night in.

Friday we watched the remaining DVD then headed out to dinner at Knox followed by a movie. We watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall which was really good, very funny. There's quite a few scenes with willy flashes so beware lol.

Saturday was a bludge day and Sunday we went shopping. It's my mum's birthday on Wednesday, my sister's next Monday and then Mother's day the following Sunday! There goes my money lol.

Hi

Mm no decisions on my job future made as yet. Still need to go in and chat to the manager of the position I have been offered. It turns out my redundancy package along with my final pay and accrued annual leave pay out will be around $14,000 after tax. I must admit this is a big motivating factor as I could move out, if not use the money as a deposit on a house of my own.

Friday night Dhillon and I went to watch Street Kings, the new Kenau Reeves movie, at Knox. We got there early so had dinner at Grill'd. They have OK burgers but really yummy chips!! The movie was really good.

Saturday night was miss Tahlea's hens dinner at Fiesta Mexican restaurant in South Yarra. We had a buffet of salsa and chips, nachos, rice and beef, burritos, and I forget the other one, something with chicken. Was great and heaps of food for only $25! After we ate Tahlea got to pop a piñata which was fun and had some lollies in it. I think Tahlea and her friends went out after but Kelly and I were so stuffed we left after dinner.

Wow

So, this afternoon my (new) manager Kelly called me into her office to have a chat with Richard (centre manager). I sat down at the table and Richard opened the conversation with "Now I have a lot of information to get through so I'm sure you'll have some questions at the end". He had a bunch of papers in front of him and I sat there wondering if I had been paying people wrong or stuffed up the incentives or something equally horrible.

Turns out my position will become redundant as of June 27 2008. Payroll will be centralised at North Sydney corporate which makes sense. To be honest I wasn't shocked, definitely surprised but deep down I knew it would come eventually.

If I leave now my redundancy package would be approximately $6000 before tax, if I work up until July I will receive an extra $3000 bonus. I have also been offered another position in the business and if I take that I will technically not become redundant, I will however still receive the $3000 bonus. The position offered pays $50k per annum, as would any other payroll position I could find.

Over the next few weeks I will need to decide if I want to take up this new position in Stellar or move on and accept the redundancy package.

Hmmmm

Zoom zoom

I got an extra 1gig of RAM for my laptop today, now it ZOOMS, super fast, loving it :D Might upgrade my Windows too, but I'll leave that to computer geek hunyo.

Went to Yum Cha yesterday with Kelly, Erryn, Tahlea and Winda. Ate at Shark Fin Inn in the city and scoffed down dumplings and buns and egg tarts and yummy yummy food! On the way to pick Winda up there was a close call accident at Spaghetti Junction, car did a 360 and ended up facing the oncoming traffic. Scary!!

Karaoke?

Last night was my (ex)manager's resignation (?) celebrations, or farewell I guess you would call it. Went to Kelly's house after work to change and get ready then to Alaysa Turkish Restaurant on Sydney Rd for dinner. We then headed to Baraki for a few drinks. They had a live band playing and some rnb tracks in the breaks. Was OK, not the best place I've been to but Jenny likes it for the guys lol.We left Jenny there about 12 and went to Karaoke. Guess what? I sang hahaha. Never thought that would ever happen. Sang Love Shack with everyone, Sukiyaki with Amour and Endless Love with Dhillon hahah. Was great fun, mainly cos we were all trashed. Never ever thought I would ever sing into a microphone in front of anyone, ever.

Today I feel really tired, not in a hungover headache way, just tired, so I went to Coles and got some food and VideoEzy for some DVD's. Dhillon will be at a wedding all day and night so it's a quiet one in for me.

AVB here we come!

This morning at work I logged into Ticketek and patiently waited for 9 o'clock to come around so I could purchase Armin Van Buuren tickets for me and hunyo. It got to 8:55 so I started refreshing the page and in the refresh time from 9:00 to 9:01, first release tickets had SOLD OUT!!!!!!! I was shocked to say the least, but I kept on refreshing and managed to get second release, Dhillon's friend's managed to get third release and it's probably sold out by now. I'm so glad we got them!

At the gym this evening I saw the definition of ba-donk-a-donk (Subway advertisement) in front of my very eyes. We have a station in the circuit that is a boxing man, so a torso that you punch. This lady was having a go, giving him a good pummelling to the belly with her back facing towards me. She was wearing leggings and she was not skinny, not huge but there was an ass and a half in those leggings, along with her undies that seemed to be cutting right into her butt flab. As she was punching away her butt and thighs were bouncing up and down, side to side, and as I was watching I couldn't help seeing it in slow motion, disgusting!!!

Sleepy

I am SO tired. Last night I went to bed at normal time, yawning my head off .. turned out the lights and just tossed and turned for hours. I was exhausted but just couldn't nod off and I was getting annoyed at myself which in turn kept me awake for longer. Rah! So I was tired and cranky at work, but a wedding invite cheered me up :) but I was definitely too tired for the gym so I left work half an hour early and went for a walk, which was nice cause the weather was lovely and warm.

I need a snooze though, now -.-zZzzZz

Weekend

I had a really great weekend this weekend. Didn't really do anything super special but it was just nice, I'm satisfied :)

Friday as you know I had my hair dresser appointment and Dhillon was at Raj's place so I watched some TV and chatted to him when they got tired and were ready to sleep.

Woke up on Saturday and did my laundry as usual then played DS games until hunyo was ready to go out. He picked me up and we went to Chapel St for dinner. Had a really yummy pizza and an OK serve of sticky date pudding, only OK cause it didn't compare to other one's I've had in the past. After dinner we went to the Jam Factory to watch Semi-Pro. I'd heard bad reviews about it but we still went in to have a look, turned out to be really funny and I would recommend you go see it, just don't go in with high expectations :P After the movie we went for a drink at The Imperial, they had a fire lit in their fireplace which was lovely, and I had a cocktail called Dream Catcher, lime, lychee and lemonade, which was lovely too.

Today I wanted to go out and spend some time in the sun but we ended up going to Malvern to the computer swap meet. We bought some memory for my laptop (so I can install Vista) but it turns out the kind we bought isn't compatible with my Toshiba, boo, but that's ok. Also bought a wireless router so finally my laptop is on wireless without having the super long Ethernet cord from my room to the main PC.

I think it was nice because of the weather, and spending lots of time with hunyo and not spending too much money, and I guess I was in a pretty good mood too. :D

(Hi to my newest reader Tayo .. I think I have 5 readers now? Yay)

Excited but broke

Or soon to be anyway ;) Today after gym I went to my local Hairhouse Warehouse at Eastland to meet with Gemma about getting hair extensions done. We had a good chat, had a look at some hair types, picked out some colours, she even put a couple of strands in my hair so I could see how it works. Basically it's a small bunch of hair strands, maybe 2mm wide which are bunched up together at one end. She then slides a small metal ring (which is lined on the inside so you don't damage your hair) onto your hair, then slips in the extension and crimps closed the ring with a pair of pliers about 1cm away from your scalp. The hair is held on really tightly, I gave it a good yank, it doesn't hurt and once the ring are squashed they lie flat against your head.

I'm really excited, I've never been able to grow my hair very long without it looking thin and yucky. It's gonna cost me heaps though, cos my hair strands are quite thin I need to use the European hair. If I used the Indian or Chinese hair the strands would be allot thicker than mine and behave differently and look completely obvious (I researched all this online). So for now I need to use a super-duper clarifying shampoo and conditioner on my hair and in 3 weeks I will go in for a dye to my hair to match the extension colours we picked, then on May 9 is my extension application appointment. Yay!!!
