Happy Halloween and also happy birthday to my Dad! This weekend has been a pretty quiet one spent on the couch with the Foxtel.

That being said on Saturday I drove out to Hoppers Crossing to pick up the newest resident of the flat … he is yet to be named but super cute, friendly, smootchie and mischievous. Ninja doesn’t really know what has hit her and has spent most of her time under my bed. She will come out soon enough, it’s expected to take one or two weeks for cats to become friends.

Saturday evening Dhillon and I walked to Melbourne Central and watched The Town which stars Ben Affleck. It was pretty good, for that kind of movie. Afterwards we grabbed a bottle of wine and spent the evening with the kitten and the TV, whilst trying to convince Ninja to come out and play.

Today Dhillon and I went to Shang Hai Dumplings for lunch and then relaxed on the couch until it was time for him to go home.

Friday after work Smootie Andrew came into the city to have dinner with me. We were going to have dumplings but all the good places were full with queues out the front! We decided on Taco Bill and even though it had a queue too, we were too hungry to walk anymore. We both had beef burritos and mango margaritas. The dessert menu was brought out for us but it was just too much! On the way home we stopped and got an icecream though. Andrew came upstairs for a while and we had a chat with Laura. After Andrew went home, Laura and I cracked open a bottle of red and had a night in watching old episodes of Friends.

Saturday afternoon Dhillon and I went to Lucy’s wedding in Maidstone. Lucy had asked us to come to the church ceremony, which is unusual for a Vietnamese wedding, but I was happy to go along. The entire ceremony was in the language but still wonderful to see. Lucy’s older sister got up and the end and gave a short speech in English which was nice, and the wedding program also had an English translation for some parts. After the ceremony we came home to eat and wait until it was time to go to the reception at Happy Receptions in Ascot Vale. The reception was fun with lots of food (of course), drinks, dancing and fun. Lucy’s sister had even organised African themed dancers to come and Lucy and her new husband Kevin were up to dance with them! It was a beautiful night and they are off to Thailand for their honeymoon today.

Today, Sunday, Dhillon and I walked around the city to do some window shopping. We were looking at IPods and I also bought some clothes. After we were tired out I drove Dhillon home and we had KFC for lunch.

Friday after work I had organised to pick up Robyn from work. It took me almost 45 minutes to get from my place to Market St … goddamn city peak hour traffic. Seems even worse on a Friday, luckily I only have to walk to work! Once I picked Robyn up we made our way to Westfield Doncaster to do some shopping. I had seen a pretty dress at Myer in the city but they didn’t have my size and I was hoping Myer Doncaster would have it. Unfortunately they didn’t but I ended up buying something from Target. I had some Spudbar for dinner before dropping Robyn off and making my way home.

On Saturday I returned the keys for my old place to the Real Estate Agent before meeting up with someone at Ringwood Genesis Gym to transfer my membership over. I dropped by Mum’s house to get changed for netball and scoffed a small lunch there. At netball we played outside in the sun and then rain. We lost by 1 goal which was annoying, the scores were low though 11-10 which shows it was a good game. After netball I picked up Dhillon and we came back to  my place to get ready for his work function. Robyn and Marty came by in their taxi to pick us up at about 7 and we all hopped out at the RACV Centre. The event was held on level 17 which is the function room. There were drinks and finger food to start off with. I was mid-way through scoffing a spring roll when Chinmay came over to say the CEO wanted to meet me. After making sure I had no food stuck in my teeth I went over to meet Melissa, she said she was very happy to meet me and see that I really did exist. She also said I need to get Dhillon to stop working such long hours … I try. Dinner was either lamb or chicken, I had the lamb and a platter of desserts and chocolates. The wine and champagne was flowing and the dancing was just starting when Dhillon and I left to head to a birthday party. The birthday was for Dhillon’s friend Ralph. He had booked a room at Silk Road where we enjoyed some yum-cha style food and a few more drinks. Dhillon made me walk home in my heels and couldn’t understand why I wasn’t too happy about it!

Sunday Dhillon and I booked in our accommodation in Daylesford next month for our anniversary. We are staying at Balconies bed and breakfast and I am going to book us in for some spa time and a massage. Can’t wait :) In the afternoon I drove Dhillon home before spending the rest of the afternoon and evening on the couch!

Friday after work I met up with Robyn and her friend Tim at Federation Square to see the Tim Burton Exhibition. They had both been before but for me it was the first time. The pictures and articles were amazing, right from his early work you could see his twisted sense of humour. My favourite movie of his so far has been Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, although Beetlejuice is high up on the list too. It was awesome, I was so glad I made it before the exhibition closed on Sunday. After sightseeing we had dinner at Feddish before Tim dropped me off home. Dhillon had been out at a work dinner but came by in the evening and stayed over for the first time in the new place!

Saturday I dropped Dhillon off to his car which he had left parked at work. I then made my way out to netball, which we unfortunately lost. Once I got home from netball I showered and headed out to Suzanna’s for her housewarming parry. We had a BBQ on the rooftop of her place before making our way over the road to The Glenferrie. We all had a few drinks and enjoyed the DJ and the live band, not at the same time though! I caught a taxi home at around 1.30am.

Yesterday I took Reggie to Blackburn to get it washed at the place next to Dhillon’s temple. They do such an awesome job, washed inside and out in 30 min for $40. I had a cup of tea while I was waiting. When my car was done I went over to Mum’s to check out an old bookshelf she said I could have. Turns out it was perfect and I snapped it up. Robyn was also at Mum’s so we all went out for lunch at Enrik’s. I had a smoked salmon salad which was yummo! In the afternoon I came home and did some more cleaning and organising of the place. We are almost there :)

Woo I haven’t been this tired for a long time! Moving day finally arrived and as of today (Monday) I am pretty much unpacked and organised.

Friday night Dhillon and I got a Crust pizza (peri-peri chicken) and finished packing up the rest of my house. We took the bed apart in the evening and slept on the mattress on the floor!

Saturday we woke up at 6.30am and after a quick shower we made our way to Budget Rent-A-Truck in Box Hill to pick up the hire truck for the day. We were back to my place at 8 and Robyn, Marty and Jimmy arrived not long after. We had my house packed up by 10.30 and then made our way to Mum’s house to drop off my fridge and coffee table, then to Robyn & Marty’s house to drop off the desk, bedside tables and washing machine. We made it into the city at about 11.30 and managed to unpack all my junk within 20 minutes or so. After the city we made our final stop in Dingley at Mama K’s house as she will be storing my couches, microwave and a few boxes in her garage. We dropped the truck off at 2.30 and I picked up Ninja and came home. She promptly made her way under the couch and didn’t come out until we turned the lights off to go to bed. She is a bit more relaxed now but still not completely at home just yet. My bedroom is organised and once we work out where to put Laura’s spare furniture the living areas will be organised too. Laura cooked us dinner, a really yummy lasagne but with a bit too much cheese on top!

Sunday I did more unpacking and also went out to Ringwood to clean up some weeds and pick up the last of my junk. I filled up the bin at Ringwood, Robyn & Marty’s bin and Mum’s bin too! In the afternoon I was still organising myself and then I plonked onto the couch to watch TV. I think I may have snored overnight due to exhaustion.

Today I got to sleep in an extra 40 minutes and then strolled to work in about 12 minutes. It was very nice and really warm outside this morning. The city was welcoming me, until we got rained on at lunch time that is! I went downstairs to the gym after work, it seems pretty busy so I might take advantage of the free membership at QV that my work offers.
